The Infant Cognition Laboratory is located in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois. The lab has been in continuous operation since the fall of 1984; the first test session was conducted on November 13, 1984. Since then, the lab has conducted over 25,000 test sessions with infants and toddlers, thanks to the generous participation of parents from Champaign-Urbana and surrounding communities.

The research conducted in the lab focuses on cognitive development in the first three years of life.

The lab has been supported since 1985 by grants from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The lab has also received grants from the Guggenheim Foundation and the University of Illinois.

Dr. Renée Baillargeon, who is an Alumni Distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychology, is the Director of the Infant Cognition Laboratory.
