Research interests:
My current research is distributed across two domains. First, I am interested in metamemory, particularly how expectations about future retrieval conditions influence our encoding strategies. For instance, do we encode information differently if we expect to recall it in one day versus one week from now? My second line of research involves optimal learning schedules. I am particularly interested in subject adaptive schedules that utilize past performance to determine the nature of future practice. My work with subject adaptive schedules is currently limited to motor learning, though I plan to apply it to educationally relevant materials. I am also interested in eyewitness memory, and am currently developing experiments that will investigate how to improve the accuracy of eyewitness identification.
