Research interests:
My research focuses on memory, and in particular how much of ‘good memory’ can be explained by the strategies we use to remember. A longstanding finding has been the correlation between one’s working memory and the longer term memory used in free recall. My current work is trying to see whether strategy use—for instance, their ability to recognize a common category amidst the words to be recalled—might mediate this relationship. I also work on recognition memory, looking at old/new vs context judgments under divided attention through a state-trace analysis.
