The graduate training program in language processing at the University of Illinois

• trains doctoral students in the psychological and biological bases of human communication
• draws on resources in the Department of Psychology, the Department of Linguistics, the Department of Educational Psychology and the Beckman Institute
• offers broad and balanced training to develop outstanding researchers

Graduate trainees participate in

• research in experimental and developmental psycholinguistics, linguistics, and computational modeling, including the use of eye-movement monitoring, computational modeling, event-related-potential recording, optical and functional-magnetic imaging, articulatory tracking, corpus analysis, speech analysis, and basic techniques of cognitive and developmental research
