Overview

Our research examines infants' understanding of the physical world.

Participating in a study takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

Your infant will sit on your lap in front of a small stage and watch events on the stage.

We will show two test events: one possible and one impossible.

When infants find an event surprising, they tend to look longer at that event.

There are two observers who monitor how long the infant looks at each event.

Appointments can be made for mornings, afternoons, or evenings.

You can bring older children with you if that is more convenient. There is a student available to supervise siblings during the experiment.

We can reimburse you for travel expenses.
